iCABS Driver for iPhone: Privacy Notice

Effective date: 9 October 2026

This notice explains personal information used by the iCABS Driver iPhone app and its connected driver services. It applies to professional drivers using an iCABS account. The separate Android driver notice remains available. The website notice further down this page relates to the website; its advertising and newsletter descriptions do not describe the iPhone driver app.

Who is responsible

ICABS Travel GB Limited, company number 17122447, 6 Toxteth Grove, Liverpool, L8 9SS, United Kingdom, is responsible for the iCABS driver account and operational records. Sadiq Ur Rehman handles privacy enquiries and deletion requests at [email protected].

Information used and why

  • Driver account and contact details: name, email, telephone number, address, driver ID, profile photograph, account status and vehicle details are used to identify you, manage access, communicate with you and determine booking eligibility.
  • Licensing and eligibility records: documents you choose to submit, their dates, file details and review status. These can include driving licence front and back, private hire driver licence, profile photo, right-to-work evidence, DBS certificate, hire and reward insurance, private hire vehicle licence, MOT certificate and V5C logbook. They support driver and vehicle checks. A DBS document may contain criminal-record information; provide it only through the relevant requested section, not through general chat.
  • Bookings and journeys: pickup, ordered stops, destination, passenger contact details, scheduled times, fares, payment method, acceptance and journey status, job preferences and completion records support dispatch, navigation, passenger service and resolving disputes.
  • Earnings and financial records: trip earnings, commission, statements, wallet transactions, cash collection, payment status and payout or banking information supplied to iCABS support driver accounting and payments. The app does not use these records for advertising.
  • Communications: in-app messages, support requests, uploaded attachments, notification preferences and delivery identifiers support booking communications and driver support. Other app content includes availability, settings and document review information.
  • Device, security and service information: app and OS version, device or service identifiers, push token, IP address, authentication/session information, usage or interaction data and SDK diagnostic information may be processed to deliver notifications, protect accounts, troubleshoot faults and maintain app and navigation performance. Google Maps and Navigation SDKs can collect location, device/usage information, crash and performance diagnostics and other service data as described in Google's notices.

Location and background tracking

With iPhone location permission, the app uses precise GPS location and associated heading, speed, accuracy and time for map positioning, booking dispatch, pickup and stop arrival, route guidance and job-related progress. When you are signed in and online, the app sends location updates to iCABS. With Always location permission, those online updates can continue when the app is in the background or the screen is locked, including while navigating a job. This is work-related tracking, not advertising tracking.

Going offline or signing out stops the iCABS online location-upload service. The visible map or a navigation provider may still use location under its own permission while you use it. You can change location permission and Precise Location in iPhone Settings. Refusing or withdrawing permission can prevent location-dependent dispatch, arrival detection and navigation from working correctly. Authorised dispatch staff can view job-related location; other drivers can see permitted online driver markers where that account feature is enabled.

Documents and device permissions

Document files are sent to the iCABS server only when you select a file and choose to upload it. Authorised iCABS staff review them; they are not posted publicly or shared with passengers. Photo/file pickers provide the items you select, not a general copy of your photo library. If camera or photo access is requested, it is for the relevant chosen image or document feature. Notifications are used for jobs, messages and service updates, subject to your iPhone settings. The app's trip calendar displays iCABS booking records; it does not upload your personal device calendar as part of that display. Biometric sign-in, where enabled, uses Apple's device authentication; iCABS does not receive your Face ID or Touch ID biometric template.

Sharing and service providers

iCABS operational records are held on its server systems, administered using Plesk. Records are used for iCABS operations and support and are accessible to authorised staff and service providers where needed for those purposes. Necessary booking details may be shared with the passenger or booking partner; necessary records may also be disclosed to licensing authorities, legal advisers, insurers or public authorities where required or justified by a specific matter. Contact iCABS for the hosting provider and data-centre details; the control-panel supplier's office address does not establish the server location.

The app also uses third-party map, navigation and platform services. Google Maps/Navigation processes information to provide maps, routes, guidance and service diagnostics. Apple provides iOS, device authentication and notification services. Choosing external Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze opens that provider with the relevant destination address or coordinates. Choosing WhatsApp opens the selected contact or prepared message with WhatsApp. Your use of these services is governed by their own privacy notices; this means not all information used by the app is processed only inside iCABS.

These providers may process information outside the UK. Their notices explain their processing locations and safeguards. UK international-transfer requirements apply to transfers arranged by iCABS. Contact the privacy address for information about a particular provider or transfer.

The iPhone driver app does not sell driver data, use it for targeted advertising or track you across other companies' apps for advertising.

Legal grounds and security

Ordinary account, booking and payment information is processed to provide and administer the driver service and related contractual arrangements. Legal obligations can require licensing, accounting or other records. Legitimate interests can support service security, operational support and handling claims, subject to applicable rights. Optional permissions can be withdrawn through device settings; an iOS permission is not, by itself, the legal basis for every use of the resulting record. Criminal-record or other specially protected information requires the additional legal conditions that apply to the relevant check.

App-server connections use HTTPS. Access to operational records is restricted through account and staff access controls. Documents and session information should not be shared through public links. No system can guarantee absolute security; tell iCABS promptly if you suspect an account or document has been exposed.

Retention and deletion

Retention depends on the record and the purpose, rather than one fixed period for everything. Account and licensing records are needed while the driver relationship and eligibility checks remain relevant. Booking, earnings, payment and statement records may remain necessary for accounting, licensing obligations, claims or disputes. Location and technical records are retained according to operational, security and incident-investigation needs. Open support matters and unresolved claims can require related records to be kept longer. Copies in backups are subject to the applicable backup lifecycle and are not necessarily removed immediately when an active record is deleted.

To request deletion of your driver account or particular information, email [email protected] from your registered address, identifying the account and what you want deleted. Do not send your password or a full identity document in the initial email. iCABS may need to verify identity. Sadiq Ur Rehman will handle the request and explain any records that must remain, the reason and applicable retention information. Removing the app or signing out does not itself delete server records.

Your rights and contact

Subject to the applicable law and its exceptions, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information and object to relevant processing. You can withdraw an optional permission or consent without affecting prior lawful processing. Send requests and questions to [email protected]. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

This is a professional driver service, not a children's app. This notice may be updated when the service or its data handling changes; the effective date above identifies this version.
